Thinking of chocolate! This made from scratch Chocolate Cobbler is a taste no mix can match. This chocolatey gooey goodness is one of our favorite desserts. So quick and simple to make.
It’s all the ingredients you almost always have in your kitchen. When company comes in for an unexpected visit and you don’t have dessert…make this and I promise they will ask for the recipe.
I have posted this recipe before and it seems to be everyone’s favorite, so I decided to feature it again. Hope you enjoy!!!
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup self rising flour
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
3 Tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix the above ingredients and spread into a greased 11×7 glass baking dish.
Top Mixture – Mix together and sprinkle evenly on the above mixture.
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
Pour 1 1/2 cup hot water gently over all. DO NOT MIX- just gently pour over all
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve hot, or cold.

This looks good.
Thanks Donna, I think the next time I make it I will add pecans. Hope you try it sometime.
My husband LOVES this and he is not a dessert eater! Thanks!!
Hi Michelle, I’m so glad your husband loved the Chocolate Cobbler! It’s addictive!!! Thanks for letting me know.
Mmmm, looks soooo good, and did you know it can be good for you??? Check out my post for Wellness this Tuesday. How coincidental that you would post a chocolate recipe. Enjoy!
Patricia, Sugar & Spice & All Things ? Nice
Hi Patricia, I sure hope chocolate is good for you, because I sure eat a lot of it. Going to check out your post now…thanks!
Have you tried making this with spelt instead of self-rising flour? It looks delish!
Hi Sylvia,
I have never used spelt. I don’t know if it would change the taste or not. If you use it, hope it works. Thanks for the comment!
